I have to say, my HMO has been excellent throughout all of this. I opted to not take Medicare, because my coverage with the HMO is very good. They did cut back a bit. Before, they paid EVERYTHING for meds for the first year; now, they don't. But that's still OK, because I'm paying a fraction of the cost.

I don't fully understand how each of these minerals interact with each other. My calcium has been fine, but my phos and mag have not. Hopefully, I'll find a happy medium with each.

Fortunately, I don't use Excel much at work. My boss asks me for help sometimes, because I do know a lot about computers, and have been able to figure out solutions to her problems; that's why I'm doing it.

"The next time I hear a co-worker complain about our insurance coverage, I will promptly tell them about my Valcyte."

You have great coverage! Aren't some HMOs now paying less for certain meds?

"my phosphorous is lower at 1.5 (the surgeon wasn’t too concerned; I just have to eat more dairy)"

I hope this doesn't affect your Mg levels because of the calcium.

"I’m learning Excel, so that is why it’s in spreadsheet format"

UGH! I can't stand Excel. LMK if you find any good shortcuts for the math-impaired.

Yes,lower is better. It should be 0, but with all of the extra IV fluid I got, and the fact that my kidney took a while to adjust, I still have some extra fluid to get rid of. It will eventually go down, so I'm not worried. It would be nice to happen soon, as wearing my leg orthotics is difficult at this point.
